About Jeff

Originally from Kentucky, designer and illustrator Jeff Winstead has navigated his way through a wide variety of industries—including publishing, gift wrap, beer, and spirits—working on properties for DC Comics, Disney, Lucasfilm, and more.

Jeff’s work has appeared in Package Design Magazine, Mental Floss, the book Cool Beer Labels: The Best Art & Design from Breweries Around the World, and on the shows Mad Money on CNBC and The Unicorn on CBS. 

Jeff is Creative Director for Lonerider Brewing Company in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he designs and illustrates all things beer for the Eastern United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands (winning a few design awards along the way). Jeff is also the creator of The Alternate, a superhero comic book series available digitally on ComiXology and Amazon for Kindle. His first novel, The Last Battle of the Revolution, was released in March 2022 and is available through Amazon and Apple Books.

In addition to comics, Jeff digs mid-century design, Elvis, Robert Mitchum films, and detective fiction. He hangs with his wife, Rachel Winstead, and their dog, Preston Hall, at their creative hub in Palm Springs, California.
